That is the right thing to do.

I always respected Al Franken. I respect his decision and think it’s right.
-
I agree with him on most political issues, but that will never excuse assaulting sleeping women. I respect his decision to move on and hope he can find a way to make amends to his survivors.
-
"Survivors", BS! Were they maimed? Held against their will? Beaten? Give me a break...they were embarrassed. Al Franken apologized publicly. In another year no one will remember this and we will have lost a good Senator.
-
Calling for republicans to step down and tolerating this behavior in your own party shows you to be a blind partisan. Though I am liberal, I would never sacrifice my integrity for partisan gains. Without integrity our party is lost. He did the right thing by stepping down.
-
I feel the same. I hope his victims find peace and that he can continue his activism with grassroots efforts.
-
Our party deserves the best face. Sexual predators are not that face.

Good for Senator Franken for setting an example and accepting responsibility for his conduct. I hope he uses the next couple of years to speak out on sexual misconduct, pays his penance, seeks to re-earn the respect of his constituents and runs again in 2020.
