Morally they have no defense but legally nothing can be done. The law didn't exist at the time. Change the law to demand 911 calls.

That law doesn't exist in Florida. They're going a back route by trying to use a law that only applies in certain situations ie nursinghomes

If they did nothing to make his situation any worse than it was when they found him, they're terrible people but I'd argue not criminal.

Well they filmed him and taunted him. Just being there gave him hope for help. Might have distracted him from saving himself.
