The surviving families of the people AH killed won't get their civil judgements against the estate unless the conviction stands.

Conviction shouldn't of been thrown out he was convicted. By a jury of his peers His family shouldn't be rewarded for his suicide
-
Why shouid his family suffer, for what he's done, may I ask?
-
Why should his family collect a NFL paycheck because he committed suicide
-
Get over it! Rules don't change in the middle of the game. It's over.

I don't like changing laws just for a high profile case.

Ummm...here in NY, we call it "abated by death." The defendant is not here to face his accusers. Period, end of sentence.

He's gone
Let it go. - 1 more reply

What a waste of time and money

NFL doesn't have to pay his family if the conviction goes through, I guess.

Good. It was a slap in the face to the victims family
-
I don't know about that. When the guy who killed my sister offed himself, I was quite pleased about it. Best thing he ever did.
-
There are claims by the victims families against his estate. If they don't reinstate the conviction those claims will get tossed in court.
-
That's a slap in the face. His suicide was a blessing.
