It used to be that a booster fault meant the whole thing blew up and killed everybody on board. This incident represents substantial progress.

Had the same thought. Something about that particular detail made me extremely happy, I suppose for that exact reason.

Watching CNN report on this it's amazing you people never learned that what you called capsule hard landing with lots of dust, in fact shows explosive charges being deployed automatically just before impact to counteract it.

Soyuz emergency landing : It is a great safety measure that satellite launch rockets or those launched to take supplies to SPACE STATION do have inbuilt mechanism to return & land for emergency purposes to avoid accidents.

Watching the ignorance of the CNN reporting on this was 😳 “did something explode on landing or was that just a very hard landing in a dusty area” 🙈 I’m from Africa and even I know their land based landings are done with last second retro rockets to lessen impact #factchecking

But why would "the incident highlight recent tensions"? If it was a mishap, and nobody "meddled" wouldn't the "incident" be a relief just to know the two passengers were safe? And by the way it's been found that the "Russians didn't actually "meddle"-that was a lie by the DNC/FBI
