It's 2018, is this necessary? Just get footage from somewhere indoors and stay safe.

Seems funny how these reporters admonished people who wouldn't evacuate but they stand out in it.

It's their job. Just like reporting from an active war zone.

If it’s so dangerous to stay why are reporters outside in it?

This old-school news tradition of putting reporters in danger just to get shots of people in the middle of a deadly storm or a warzone does not serve the public and is only still in practice because editors want something "interesting" to put on television.

Why the hell do they have John out there in these conditions and NO proper rain gear??? That could not be safe and I hope he doesn't have to use his sick leave later. The public appreciate the raw news but care about these folks safety also.

Why those poor guys gotta stand out there like that? How bad would you feel if something big came along & hit them, or they blew away?

Why you like to send your reporter in danger situations just to show some rain? It’s a hurrican, we don t need to see the rain, we can imagine it

Go home we don’t need live action and it sends conflicting message when your asking everyone to evacuate. I mean which is it?

Damned fools. What do they think they're proving, staying out in that weather? Didn't their parents ever teach them to get inside out of the rain? Didn't they hear the evacuation orders? How long before some idiot reporter dies pulling a stunt like this?
