Please people- don’t speak for all. I work at Amazon. I make more money and have better benefits than at any other job (I’m 53 so I’ve had quite a few). I am not formally educated but I make more money than my husband who is a teacher with his masters.

And that last statement should be enough of an explanation as to why the company you work for is just doing a PR stunt. Your boss cares NOTHING for education, NOTHING for his employees, and NOTHING for humanity he will just throw money at the issue and then claim SAINTHOOD!!!

How can you say that a guy who just donated 2bil dollars to help homeless and education doesn't care about humanity? He could have just *not* donated. Ungrateful people like you aren't making it very inviting for other billionaires to contribute either.

Besides, what more is he meant to do? He's not an economist or a politician so there's not much more he can do than to donate to research or institutes he feels might help. I think you're anger should be directed at the politicians who allow for programs to become so underfunded.

There is plenty he can do. Why don't we start with Amazon ensuring that all schools in the United States have up-to-date and free books. That's just one I can think of. How about ensuring any and all teachers who buy their classroom supplies on Amazon not only get free shipping

But get those supplies at cost or better yet how about a billion dollars so that teachers can get them for free. I'm sure there are plenty of other things Amazon can do.

How about lauding someone for what they have done and not demonizing them for what they haven't done. Why is it Amazon's responsibility to ensure free or cheap supplies for teachers and students?

There it is always the excuse why is it somebody else's issue when it should be governments. Because he says he can do it better than any government. Because he's the one who sits there on his high horse claiming he's better than everyone because he is wealthy.
