It doesn't matter that she is a police officer. She was off duty, entered another man's house, shot and killed him. It's not complicated.

Was the hallway lighted to allow her to see apartment number? Does any building have identical apartment numbers (regardless of floor)?
-
Was the furniture exactly alike? How did the key work? If he walked in and shot her what would happen??? Just some questions I have.
-
It even that, your key won’t match the lock...
-
Key didn't fit, but door was apparently unlocked. Why didn't she look at the door number? Sure hallway was lighted. (or, being a cop, maybe she did and thought someone's place was being burglarized). Lots 'o questions on this one.
-
They use fobs not keys. So the lock flashes green when it’s the right fob. And no the door wasn’t unlocked
-
It wasn't unlocked? She said it was. Any "fob" can open any door? That's dangerous in itself.
-
She’s changed her story. First said it was locked. witnesses say they heard someone yelling “open up”
-
Is that so? Full of lies. Reminds of NYPD officer who killed man in shadows during "vertical patrol" and phoned police union first before calling in shooting.

I’m actually surprised she was charged. Police shield their own, since they are “The Law,” they feel above and beyond it. Flagrantly speeding, text while driving, phone usage, run red lights w/sirens only to shut off right after, shoot first ask questions later, in every state.

Do not crucify this women for a tragic mistake. I realize it was a horrible mistake , but if it were you, would you hope for some mercy & understanding. I have been in an apartment parking garage & hallway like this & I see how this could happen. My heart goes out to the victim.
-
Yeah it happens everyday? NOT. She should already be in custody
-
Yeah I've accidentally pulled on someone's car door that looks like mine, but NEVER have walked into the wrong residence

Clearly, this was very very tragic for the mother that lost her beloved son. I would like to know more details of the situation. How could a police officer enter the wrong apartment on a different floor thinking it was their home? A heap of questions need answering.
-
my sentiments exactly!

Entering someone else's home and shooting them, "by mistake". What kind of insanity is that?
