People are upset about the sentence when it’s almost impossible to get a conviction. Beats the hell out of “administrative leave” and no prosecution. All things considered, it’s a victory. And a step in the direction of real justice.

I agree—I do criminal defense for a living. But, this is something. The kind of criminal justice reform we desperately need won’t happen until legislators move or are replaced by ones who will. We can appreciate a victory in one case and still decry the larger injustice.

only fifteen years, but the child is dead FOREVER
-
Think of it like this 15 yrs = 24hrs a day watching his back dude is pretty much dead soon as inmates find out he's a ex cop!
-
perhaps: the boy is dead now. And his family will never get to see him graduate high school, or college, or get married, or have children...this isn't about the cop
-
True its seriously heart breaking and I personally know what it feels to have a love one killed by a cop. The only difference was that cop wasn't convicted and went on to kill 4 more black young men. The saddest thing was that he wasn't charged until he killed his wife.
-
The cop can never suffer enough and he should remain the rest of his life imprisoned. And, Trump has declared it is open season on black people and cops are too glad to comply
-
I agree; however, I know for a fact that Karma's real and that cop is going to wind up dying in there!
-
We cannot allow ourselves to hope this but instead to await God’s wisdom and determination of justice / the likely and just outcome is as you describe it
-
I agree with you, but its a known fact ex cops don't live long nor comfortable in prison. Just call it what it is karma with a capital "K"!

Disappointed. This was murder and he lied about it. Should be much longer sentence.
