*sigh* - Assault weapons are already federally banned. What you are talking about here are "assault style" weapons, basically semi-auto rifles with "scary" looking clips and handles. The nomenclature is important if you wish to have a serious debate.

The don't care about substance. They want to ban every type of gun.

Define "assault weapon", because I don't want my assault microwave or assault can of beans to get banned

Nor do I want my assault knife, my assault hands or my assault car to be banned

Assault weapons. Who needs that and for what? Not all guns.

Does he realize how many of his state’s hunters use such weapons for hunting, which is HUGE in Montana? Oh... I forgot only republicans hunt for food for their table, Dems wanted it delivered and paid for by someone else. My bad.

If you can't hunt your animals with a bolt-action or lever-action rifle, or a bow and arrow, or a crossbow, as my family has here in Texas... You shouldn't be hunting.

I feel safer already. I even stopped locking my doors at night. When Washington DC says we're safer, then we're safer! I believe! (This is how sheep go to slaughter)

A sensible start. Who needs an assault weapon in their home? What purpose does it serve other than killing scores of people? Ridiculous these military items are on public sale.

The average person can't have an assault weapon in their home. Those are extremely restricted and very expensive. It takes an extensive background check to buy one.

Why would you possibly need an assault weapon? Shooting squirrels? It’s absurd. They kill people on a mass scale.
