Not sure why folks are tend to be against it?

The countries which still use the death penalty are communist countries, dictatorships and the US.
-
Keeps the things in check, doesn’t it?

Illegally purchased and never tested to carry out an execution.
@GovRicketts is no different than Carey Dean Moore. -
You're right. They should have just shot him.
-
Our society has more sympathy for criminals than the victims.
-
By killing him Governor Ricketts made another person a killer. How do you think that's going to make the person that took his life feel? What if it's against his religion? I don't have any sympathy for somebody that is guilty of murder he should spend his life in prison.
-
If he works in a state where executions are legal, then he should have the foresight to see that one day he may be tasked with performing an execution. As for people like Carey Moore, I'm not paying for him to have 3 hot meals a day, a TV, a roof over his head and healthcare.
-
I don't want my tax money going to pay for the United States government tearing families apart and putting children in cages. Also this date the death penalty was the illegal and the governor paid big money to change that. Kthxbye

Good. Wish they would reinstate the death penalty here. Crime is out of control and prison's are bursting at the seams. Killer's, rapist's, murderer's paradise. Insane.
-
Y'know that making recreational drugs legal would bring that number down? It also wouldn't run the risk of people overdosing on laced drugs, because of getting them from a reliable source.

Capital Punishment is Barbaric
@RepAndyBiggsAZ -
Cheaper than tax payers paying for them to live in prison for the rest of their lives
-
Wrong. It takes years of court trials and appeals to execute somebody. Those trials, attorneys, etc cost $ millions. And this is a barbaric form of punishment. The US is one of a few countries with capital punishment.
-
I stand corrected on the cost, but I still believe in capital punishment myself, as long as there is no reasonable doubt to the persons guilt
-
Sometimes innocent people get executed.
-
I agree, and that’s why there must be no doubt as to guilt before the execution.....I’m talking more along the lines of mass shooters etc
-
I don’t like the phrase “drug cocktail” . It’s no “cocktail “. It’s a concoction of deadly poison. That’s how it should be reported.
