Because oil runs out at some point and you have to look at the future? Not the first oil producing nation to do so. Qatar / UAE are already focussing on tourism as an income replacement for oil.

i dont get why the saudi's can get weaponsdeal, and are considered an ally, all whilst bin laden was a saudi prince, saudi arabia has huge human rights problems (as canada pointed out, without having support btw) and is the biggest sponsor of terrorist,yet Iran gets all the shade

A potentially horrible choice. A country focused on fossil fuel buys into an industry that kills their economic base. They obtain it, shelve it, and continue with pushing oil down our throats. Please, if you’re smart enough to develop this technology, tell me you see this?
