The operator of a duck boat tour that capsized in Branson, Missouri, killing 17 people, is sued for $100 million. The lawsuit alleges the boat's canopy dragged passengers under. https://cnn.it/2LPgvyT pic.twitter.com/jGecK3SoJ5

        None...or none worn?

None worn, at least by those who perished. Life jackets were on board. It is not SOP for passengers to put them on when the boat goes into the lake, they are only there in event of emergency.

It is for me & my family...I'd get off if there were no jackets but I have water experience...someone that has never been on a large body of water might not know...believe it or not. That's why they are blaming the canopy, to mitigate their own negligence for not wearing them.

That might have worked if all 17 that perished hadn't been found with out life jackets.

They were completely irresponsible and they knew their boats weren't designed well. Suing them for that much is probably the only way to stop them.

The people that ran that operation are completely incompetent. Survivors said passengers asked about life jackets but were told everything was under control.

The boat also had several violations. None of which were ever fixed or properly fixed. The passengers wouldn't have known that.

I'm not from that part so wouldn't know much about boat regulations but here in the U.K. Every passenger is required to b on life jacket while touring around water ways, th article states there've been several deaths course by the company.. lawsuit sounds justifiable

Crew shoulda said to put on life jackets. Passengers should have put them on anyway. Canopy should have had a jettison mechanism. None of it matters. The thing shouldn't have been on the water given the weather report. End of story.

Are you saying "educate yourselves" meaning, that I should have already known this & not asked? Or meaning you are just trying to be helpful?
