I'm a liberal and I support this. Farmers are a huge reason we have the things we have (food). A lot of farmers are impacted by this and they're already stretched thin.
-
I support farmers too, but a lot of this money isn't going to them. There are corporations who own their own farms and people who don't own any at all who will get this money. This is nothing more than a bribe to keep his base happy.

Exactly....

So let's get this straight. . . a President starts a trade war that hurts American farmers and then proposes a bailout with US taxpayer dollars? And 'anti-big government' Republicans support him? Just shows that they have no core beliefs. They just want power.

So they justify misaligned tariffs by subsidizing. Doesn’t this completely negate the benefit?

Worse to all of this is this will be funded by debt; and guess who owns our debt? The tariff-ists!

Government welfare for farmers. How interesting. Handouts due to Trump's disastrous tariff/trade policies. I suppose that is acceptable since it is Trump's base. Taking it from our vets to bail out Trumpers.
-
Not all farmers are his base
-
We sure as hell aren't part of his base. I warned them here he would pull a Smoot-Hawley tariff act, and he did. He won't do this...they've been saying it since he started this cluster and nothing. Yep, trying to win points with his base

I'm laughing at the joke that is the USA government from the other side of the world...what kind of dumb policy is this? He's the one who started the tariffs LOL. He's doing this so that he can act like he fixed the problem (which he created in the first place) again? So dumb!

This is called buying your voters back.

And this is how we continue to work our way up to $1 trillion in debt
-
Pts!! *whispers* The current US debt is 21 trillion.

... and with these policies that figure will ratchet up faster than the FED can print money (sorry, "Quantitative Easing").
