The passengers should have used common sense. It's like getting into a car and the driver saying you don't need a seatbelt, I'm a safe driver. It doesn't matter what they say, you know a seatbelt can save lives. When on water wear a life jacket. It can save lives.

Not exactly...some people have no water experience.

This should be a decision for people over 18. Under 18 you should have to wear one.

In Orlando there are these Swans that you can paddle on the lake and it’s mandatory 4 kids to wear a vest. When I asked for 1 she said they didn’t have any adult vests available. The lake was deep and I can’t swim but I was assured no one ever had an accident. Always a 1st time

I lived in Missouri and rode the ducks it was awesome but to go out when their was sufficient notice about the weather and how bad it was going to get I hope the families sue their asses off. May peace be with all the victims and their familes
-
It was absolutely heartbreaking to see empty life jackets floating atop the water. NO EXCUSE. None. Once the weather changed it was the Captain's job to get EVERYONE in a life jacket. Disgusting and needlessly tragic. Sue their asses off is right!

I spent a lot of time of boats as a child growing up in New Orleans. My dad and I were caught in many storms on Lake Pontchartrain. I don’t need anyone to tell me when it is, or isn’t, time to put a life jacket on. Common sense people.
-
But your experiences led to you knowing that, therefore it's not common sense.
-
Kids in a boat in water?? Common sense.
