Losing a journalist who has integrity is never good. I didn’t agree with him, but I respected him.

Yes. He did join Fox News, but he had a long history with the WaPo. He had been a columnist there for decades. As a liberal, I can say we lost a conservative voice and a man I deeply respected.

You really have no idea about how many good people have worked at Fox News.

Sinking to their level too?
-
I don't put people in concentration camps, so no

I think we are on the same side. I just dont see the value in besmirching someone in death in that particular manner. It shows to others that some of us are no better than some of them. We need to maintain a higher level of discourse than womp womp.
-
i know you think the con is them getting you to "sink" to their level but i beg you to consider that maybe the real con is getting you to be nice to people who never ask for it, never respect you, and don't deserve it

It's actually about being a decent human being. About holding yourself to a higher standard. You dont have to look at the other side of the aisle as "enemies".
-
what does "enemies" mean to you?
-
Not fellow citizens.

May not always have agreed, but respected him for his well thought & reasoned opinions as well as journalism. There is a difference. Also respect his determination & tenacity to persevere in this career he loved, given the challenges he faced. Would we do the same? RIP

Beautifully said and that's how I feel. I didn't agree with many of his positions but I found him to be incredibly intelligent and that's rare in politics today.
-
So very rare indeed, sadly. Hope you are doing well. I'm turning in for the night but will be around this weekend, hope you have a goodone!

May some of our wishes come true!
