Further evidence Americans can’t rely on the Supreme Court to protect this country. The only way we can do that is by voting in the midterms and changing Washington.pic.twitter.com/3llEBOodau

It was actually Bill Clinton and a Democrat congress that passed this law

In my opinion, this penalizes the disadvantaged and the poor. What about those who are working two jobs as single parents to make ends meet? It may be difficult to find time on an ongoing basis. They still deserve to be able to turn out when possible.
-
Seems they are still plenty capable of returning a piece of mail.
-
With all due respect, when you are in that situation and trying to survive, you may be unaware and uninformed. However, if an issue or a candidate arises of great importance to you you should still be able to turn out.
-
Disagree, but regardless, this was a duly enacted federal law that was followed to the letter by Ohio. Not the job of the Courts to overturn it and make a policy judgment.

So now states can purge voters who haven't voted in a while. Good. Let this be an opportunity to spread the word to register and vote. Responsibility. A low voter turnout is how we got in this mess in the first place.

*registered. You can abstain your whole life.
-
Yes, but you have a responsibility to maintain your registration. I personally have no issue if that means advising the voter registrants that you remain eligible every couple of years. Yes, postcards are the wrong way to do that. Bring registration into the 21st century.
-
Why? Is it someone else’s responsibility to tell someone to register let’s not blame the government for them being lazy, and not all voters want to be into the 21st century
-
They can vote or not, however they wish. But we must provide the opportunity. The Constitution gives them the right.
-
I agree 100% everyone has a right to vote, but no rights for anyone to hold there hands to do so, it is called taking ownership for ones actions. Plus the media reminds everyone every time there is a vote on things.

Where is the problem here? You are not being denied the vote and it is not subversive to any group. If you don’t vote in 2 years simply mail the form back or go online. This keeps voter roles up to date and verifies addresses. No biggie.

If you have moved, you are ineligible for local issues. Send the card back or go online.
