The very least that we could do as voters : If a candidate takes NRA money, don't vote for them, regardless of what party they are. Stop the flow of that money and we may actually get some action - both from lawmakers and the NRA.

When I was a kid the NRA taught gun safety and promoted the idea that guns ought to be kept from unauthorized use by being locked away. Sometime in the 90's they switched to a much more kooky platform.
