    I fear the implications for the future if we don’t start implementing teaching ethics NOW. We have to make tech for us, not against us. And by “us”, I mean all of us.

    Big Tech already monitors pretty much everything we do online and smartphone. Now analyzes tech patent applications to show us a future where voice assistants like Google's and Amazon's Alexa monitor us 24-7 at home.

    It's a great narrative -- Facebook is going to change, Zuck is going to be gone, and your protests about data sharing will make it happen. Really? Think a little harder. All this Facebook outrage isn't going to make a scintilla of difference.

    On average, people in their 50s admitted to the hospital will experience a 20% drop in income that persists for years. Income losses dwarfed direct costs of medical care. The pattern & impact are comparable to what happens to workers when a mill closes.
