Anyone out there have opinions on @letsencrypt? I'd like to move away from manual certificates and it seems like a good option, but I have never deployed a site with it, so I'd be interested in how people have fared...

I've only heard positive things. Sadly, it isn't supported by many hosting providers, but that list will dwindle with time.

if you’re using apache or nginx they have a script that will just magically give you a certificate, and it just works from then on. not sure how hard it is if you aren’t using a supported webserver.

I didn’t realize until I set it up that they expire every 90 days. Be prepared to automate renewal.

Used it on my server for the last two years. Really painless setup and automatic renew works fine as well. Had no need to manage it since, it just works.

Used it for my blog. Suuuper easy. Need a periodic job to renew (e.g. every week to be safe), but you can just let that run and not think about it again.
