Like, it's not just that they make wildly inaccurate conclusions from the available data - it's that their methodology seems straight out of an F paper in a high school science class. Why does anyone still listen to these people?

I was almost convinced by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Their methodology looked somewhat reasonable (maybe?). But I ended up not following anything. Also there was this 'Meat Lobby' thing where meat almost got excluded from the final version =)
