Also, as a sidenote, with every passing hour this is looking like a site-ending event for @Patreon. Competitors, now's your chance :)

Replying to @Jonathan_Blow @Patreon
It's hard to say. I also get a strong incompetence vibe from them in general, so it may just be that they really are very stupid.

For example, they once asked me for our EIN, banking and routing information. In email. Despite me _constantly_ trying to explain to them that nobody in their right mind would ever do that, they did not seem to understand that email is non-verifiable.

I asked multiple times for them to have a page that at least listed a contact on it, so I wouldn't have to reply to an _inbound_ e-mail with that information. They _never_ understood this no matter how hard I tried.

So at the risk of stating the obvious,
@Patreon isn't a company that should be dealing with money in the first place. It's only a matter of time before they get hella hacked, I'm pretty sure about that. If they aren't already :P1 reply 1 retweet 8 likes -
I thought they literally _did_ get hacked a couple months back? Googling gives me: https://techcrunch.com/2015/10/05/patreon-hacked-gigabytes-of-data-and-code-leaked/ …
