Got the NYU Amiga 500 running today (generous gift of @cmuratori)… suddenly remembering how hopeless a lot of 80s and 90s computing was
I don't remember any unreliably of the _computing_ though - like when I used my Amiga to program. Games had nutso stuff, that is true.

I mean those were the days of disk read copy protection so, plus the slow/fast RAM dichotomy, etc...

But everyday I programmed and it was always just so, and it never forced me to update, and everything was accessible to the programmer, etc.
