Dear all the people who told me "upgrade to 10, it's fine" and I was like "no way": http://www.pcworld.com/article/3100358/windows/you-cant-turn-off-cortana-in-the-windows-10-anniversary-update.html … The first of many, I'm sure!

I'm quite certain 10 will be a continuation of the controlled flight into terrain that Microsoft has been flying for the past decade.

I'm just hoping we get a decent debugger for Linux before they crater so I can switch all my dev machines.

you said gdb is very powerful but not very usable, so do you think a proper front-end could make it a decent debugger?

Assuming it wasn't extremely slow, yes. All GDB front-ends I've ever used are dog slow, but that might not be GDB's fault.

But if it _is_ GDB's fault, then no, that's not going to cut it. Debugging needs to be fast and responsive.

Visual Studio is already too slow - it's much slower than it used to be in the MSVC6 days.
