Honest question: Have you considered changing dev env? If so, why not? Personally, I think Mac works great for game dev.

... I tried switching to Linux but the productivity hit was pretty massive. It's not ready for game dev yet.

After @molly1935 is out I might try a Manjaro desktop and see if I can be OK with it.
