@Jonathan_Blow @cmuratori You've both expressed your hatred of Linux debuggers, would a debugger with an llvm/lldb backend be a dealbreaker?
An LLDB back-end is specifically NOT cross-platform, right, because it doesn't do PDB/Windows right.

So I'm not sure where the cross-platform part comes in?

I'm stuck in a mire of DWARF ATM, but I intend to put my Linux debugger efforts up on HMN.

In this case I was talking about debugging on both Windows and Linux, but I guess that's not really multiplatform.

LLDB can't debug most Windows executables (x64 w/ PDB is not supported). Maybe someday, but not today!

Any suggestions on how to go about creating a multiplatform C debugger? Or am I overcomplicating this?

You need to write a DWARF parser and a PDB parser. And then you need a debug operation layer.
