Why doesn't the C++ committee just add something to the spec that states that under/overflows must do whatever the target CPU's behavior is?
@natbro Yeah I don't see how this would change that? You already weren't guaranteed consistency before! You only gain consistency here.

@cmuratori yeah, but fwtfiw some compilers - gcc/clang, even msvc multi-arch - you can basically count on consistency across backends. - Show replies
