@vectorpoem@doam@saltyhorse At best, it was simply a re-opening. HyperCard had already done this in the late 80s.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@vectorpoem@doam@saltyhorse And it _was_ usable by everyone. That was why it was so popular. Anyone could make a Twine-like thing.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@vectorpoem@doam@saltyhorse And it was a lot better than Twine. For example, _Myst_ was made in Hypercard.4 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@cmuratori Yep! So, two things: 1) Hypercard was willfully exterminated by AAPL, if it hadn't been maybe Twine would never have had to exist2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

@vectorpoem I guess I don't even see it as an significant advancement in usability, though? It's just that HyperCard wasn't there.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@cmuratori Sure, Twine's UI is definitely in "good enough" territory. I would def like to see the alt timeline where HyperCard survived.3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

@vectorpoem To be honest, I don't really understand why Apple killed it :/ It was also good for other things, too!2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
@vectorpoem You could make Twine-like adventures, but regular people could also make little apps and things, and that was good.
