@___discovery I mean from code (C++).
Today's project that's taking infinitely longer than it should thanks to Windows: how do you tell if a volume has a file system on it?

@___discovery To be more specific, say you have the volume HANDLE from CreateFile. How do you know if it has a file system, or is raw?

@cmuratori It's by definition not a volume without a file system? -
@bionicbeagle No. It is a volume if it has been _activated_. But it does not need to have been _formatted_ (you can use raw IO). - Show replies

@___discovery Only works on file handles, which, if you have one, you already know you have a file system :)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
