Is there seriously not a file copy API in the Linux Kernel? Please tell me I'm overlooking it...

@rygorous@cmuratori@nothings I think the copy_fd_to_fd stuff eventually turned into splice(2) http://linux.die.net/man/2/splice but still no metadata.
