@cmuratori Do you feel a Windows tablet OS with open development will really succeed at the same model Android has "lost" to Apple with?
@AutomaticZen A) Android won in the phone space, and B) they are _already_ gaining market share in the tablet space, so yes, I do.

@cmuratori That's why I put "lost" in quotes. The problem is developers are still overwhelmingly in favor of iOS.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@cmuratori Apple's control of hardware, distro, etc, has made a platform that draws a lot of money. Money is press. Press leads to devsThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@cmuratori Add in the fact that Apple's shallow lineup of products means developers have to do less work.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@cmuratori I fear Android/W8 may have the same problem. OEM choice makes things more difficult for consumers in the endgame.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@cmuratori Which is sad, as I'd prefer to stay out of Apple's ecosystem, but every time an app I'd enjoy is not on Android, it gets harder.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@cmuratori TL;DR, many developers have supported Apple's closed platform, and in doing so, have killed the openness they desire. -
@AutomaticZen For the TL;DR part, you can jump straight to http://mollyrocket.com/casey/stream_0004.html#iOS … for at least a partial answer to that sentiment. - Show replies
