I'm fairly certain at this point that open source is a lose for competent developers. It incurs many substantial costs to you (maintenance, abuse, busywork, controversy, etc.), while all of the benefits flow to users who do not compensate you, many of whom make $billions.

It is an unjust system that employs the same kind of psychological manipulation as the music industry, allowing corporations to massively underpay their labor force. Corporations should have to pay for the software they use proportional to its worth in a real market. Period.
