[1/*] As my Windows 10 machine rebooted last night and closed all my programs (again), I would like to extend a standing invitation to @Microsoft: if anyone in the organization thinks they can justify the behavior of Windows Update, I would like to do a live interview with you.

[2/*] As many people know I am in the middle of a series of cryptocurrency interviews, which have been extremely popular, and before that I did game developer interviews, which were also extremely popular. I can guarantee you this interview would also be extremely popular.

You can set some sort of group policy to delay/stop it. I'm thankful that firefox has a "restore last session" on it so that I don't lose all my tabs.

There is indeed a group policy workaround: https://twitter.com/tom_seddon/status/990718929139052544 … (think it requires Windows 10 Professional though) Looking forward to the interview, should it happen. The Windows 10 auto reboots are... not good.

@shanselman do you know anyone that could talk on the Windows Update topic and how it's evolved over time?

I second Sebastian's request as well Scott. I have been forced to upgrade to a SSD on my older laptops just to survive the frequent Windows 10 Updates.

The worst feeling in the world is waking up and realizing that the client render you put on last night has been killed due to windows update. It's actually insane how it works today.

Jeebus Christ?! Is that crap still an issue in Windows? People have been suffering from that for many, many years. How is that still a problem? Happy to be all Mac at home and Linux at work.

I love Windows turning on my PC at night, closing all my programs, restarting, Microsoft Edge reopening automatically on a YouTube tab, so that I get waken up in the middle of the night by the infinitely autoplaying videos...

What's actually truely messed up about that is that that all happened while you weren't logged in. So it opened a browser when form your perspective the computer is not logged in...
