Hey, @cmuratori
It's safe to presume that you have some performance related issues with the language that is #javascript
But given you usually talk about having a program compile to an .exe file that can be run from anywhere.
What do you think about hybrid mobile apps?

I would say that if you were trying to go in this direction, WASM would be a better starting point than JavaScript since JavaScript is kind of a mess.

Always been curious about WASM. I'll read the docs. Thank you

SIMD has issues, and memory also has issues. I would actually classify the memory support in WASM to be the biggest problem, since SIMD is strictly a performance issue, where's memory support is an algorithm class issue is severe and has no workaround :(

They desperately need to fix the memory model of WASM but unfortunately, right now, it doesn't seem like that will happen :(

It's a memory model that doesn't really represent modern computing. Heterogeneous memory types and 64-bit virtual addressing are the most common consumer memory models and WASM can't handle either of them.
