I told @KatherineEban @VanityFair
“They funded research internationally to help study novel pathogens and prevent against them. But they had no way to know what viruses had been collected, what experiments had been conducted, and what accidents might have occurred.”

SARS2 obviously was not described in any of the EcoHealth reports to the NIH, especially their 2019 report which was only submitted this August (2 years late). But the NIH cannot comprehensively know what other work was being done by the EcoHealth or the WIV.

I would’ve preferred an official statement acknowledging this caveat and that SARS2 may well have accidentally emerged in Wuhan due to research activities.

Is there anyone who still, in their heart of hearts, thinks a lab

A lab sampled 1000s of animals & humans, hunting for novel and rare SARS-like viruses with a mind to insert novel cleavage sites, working at BSL2 that can’t protect against airborne viruses. Novel airborne SARS-like virus with novel cleavage site soon emerges in that city.

Ecohealth given 5 days to hand over unpublished data under the NIH award… what’s the penalty for not doing so? Furthermore they should be making public all unpublished data, docs, and communications related to WIV, not just under one award.https://twitter.com/GOPoversight/status/1450934193177903105 …

July 28th NIH says “no NIAID funding was approved for Gain of Function research at the WIV.”
Obviously, they were lied to.
NIH confirmed today EcoHealth and the WIV conducted GOF research on bat coronaviruses.

EcoHealth can’t be FOIA’ed, but the other subcontractors on the defuse proposal may be able to produce the discussions leading up to the plans to insert rare cleavage sites into novel SARS-like viruses.https://twitter.com/Ayjchan/status/1450451302182440963 …

Alina Chan @AyjchanI’m sure this chunk of text in the 2018 grant proposal didn’t just materialize without any discussion among the subcontractors tasked with gathering the data and conducting the cleavage site insertion experiments. https://twitter.com/Ayjchan/status/1440458403998928904 …Show this thread3 replies 10 retweets 59 likesShow this thread -

But also, EcoHealth is -still- serving as middleman for more of the same virus hunting work in SE Asia funded by the US… is that work being reported in a timely and transparent manner?https://twitter.com/Ayjchan/status/1450943916832960517 …

Is there anything to stop the EcoHealth from putting holes in their hard drives right now?
