@cmuratori I've been loving the refterm lectures but how do you think about non-pessimization vs "premature optimization". Often doing less takes more thought so can doing less ever be "premature"?

In my experience, the “it’s premature optimization” card is more times played as an excuse than in the spirit of the arguments exposed in Donald Knuth’s paper.

I wish people would read original publication by Knuth. He never said what most people think he said. At no point in the paper had he called to not optimize. Sigh. Most damage, only damage was done by taking it out of context and not bothering going to the source
