We are having a hard time finding dedicated 10gbs servers with ECC RAM. If folks out there have recommendations for datacenters that have 10gbs servers with ECC RAM, I'd love to hear them, so I can add them to my (unfortunately short) list.
I don't quite understand the Equinix Metal thing - it cannot be a "bare metal" server if you pay by the hour?

They provision a lot of exess capacity that they sell hourly or in a spot market auction at an increased rate (compared to e.g. a +1-year commitment). Either that or the world's fastest server techs :P

The good thing about them is that they're peered up all over; the bad thing(s) is someone else is running the server and it's expensive in the long run (like all "cloud-likes"). But if you need geo-diverse IPs, it's a reasonable way to get going w/out AWShttps://www.peeringdb.com/net/5230

I think it is sort of like a blade server, where you are renting a blade. Opposed to renting a VM. It is not the same as what I was talking about, but they are a good provider. I was specifically talking about colocation & delivering your own metal to the Data center.
