I would be interested to know if any high-profile cryptocurrency advocates would like to do a public interview with me where we can talk about detailed questions. Here is an example of the kind of technical interviews I do:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpINOFQ32o0 …

Specifically, I find myself having the same discussions with people about crypto, over and over again, where they cannot answer basic questions for me about why the supposed benefits of crypto actually flow from the technology as it today exists.

If there really is any "there" there, I am confident it would come out in an in-depth technical interview. Again, I have a lot of practice interviewing high-level technical people, so I don't think it would be a waste of anyone's time. Here is another one:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KXVox0-7lU …

My problem when talking to people who advocate crypto is that, quite often, they don't seem to see how they're not advocating for a tool, but instead an entire /retooling/. I mean - they THINK they understand what that means, but I don't think they do.https://twitter.com/skore_de/status/1444951585822552066 …

Instead of seeing how unlikely that is to work out and how they're just going to have the same problems (but elsewhere, this time) they continue to insist "if we just move everything over THERE, it'll all be fine". If you don't follow their logic, they simply cannot talk to you.

Ex: Saying you could "move logistics onto the blockchain" - well, ok, now you have tokens for things in your logistics chain. Who validates that those tokens are accurate?

It's supposed to solve the "issue" of trust, like when I want to have a shipment of items, there would be a blockchain entry or smart contract validating the transaction. (And there seems to be no end to the things and services you need to put on top of those to make them work)

While having "an entry somewhere that references our transaction" is not entirely useless, MOST of the issues with logistics are somewhere else - from ensuring that the items actually get to you, to "do I get sent bricks instead of tablets or no?".

So yeah, I'd be very interested to see a crypto advocate talk to
@cmuratori, but my gut feeling would be that the reason why this sort of conversation isn't happening is that the emperor does have no clothes and would rather talk about how beautiful they, hypothetical, are.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
I have already two conversations lined up, and of course I have the same questions you have, so, hopefully there will be some clear answers (or non-answers) and it will be cleared up what the difference in thinking is.
