So one thing I hadn't thought about before was that Apple's behavior is even more ridiculous than I originally considered. By force-taking 30%, they're basically ensuring that, for example, there will be a FortFone at some point.

Like they are sort of daring everyone to come and ship phones that compete with them. Maybe that's fine short-term, but I hadn't considered just how bad that is for their long-term business. People buy phones for the big apps on them, and those devs are now very incentivized...

Since basically everyone can fork Android and ship a knock-off phone if they want to (and tons of people do), I mean, that's just going to happen. Why wouldn't it?

But it's already happening, you hace chinese phone for half the price, but they still buy iPhone because of tbeir name, build, camera (very big factor), speakers and a lot of other factors besides the apps, as the apps are basically everywhere and it doesn't matter which you buy.

But it won't be when they pull their apps from iPhone, or offer 30% discounts on their phone.

You usually need a team to support a ios build, as they are not the same as android, and people still pay the price. The users on ios are usually more open to paying for apps.

I feel like FortFone would not have any trouble getting people to buy VBucks on it.
