I have had at least three separate Windows 10 machines, with completely different hardware, remain unresponsive to the power button after being shut down. Like, literally they shut down, then they will not turn back on again. They have some kind of serious UEFI bug (for years).

The first time it happened, I thought the machine just died. But later, after it had remained unplugged from the wall for a long time, I happened to plug it back in to double check, and it turned on immediately.

Had the same problem with my machine for years. I believe it is related to some fast startup feature in windows not being compatible with some setting in uefi. Had to tweak the settings (basically turn all power 'features' off) and it works. Have you tried that?

I have the same with my Surface. It's come to the point where I accept that in 2021 you cannot expect your devices to just work whenever you want it to. I try to be grateful when it ever does turn on and it works for a while.

Interesting I have a similar issue with my desktop motherboard its a gigabyte carbon ac (or something like that). Sometimes I press the power button and windows just don't boot and the red led on the motherboard (which I assume to be an error led) lights up. Reset buttons fixesit

For tower/desktop computers, I usually do powercfg.exe /hibernate off Saves some drive space from feature I'm never going to use and which hardly ever works right anyway. (Different story for laptops, though.)

Have the same issue with my newly build PC from a year ago, but I'm hibernating it and uplugging from power every time. It is completely random, some days it turns on after single press, some time i have to pres it like 10+ times.I thought that the button microswitch was broken..
