If I'm reading the original's abstract correctly, "language aptitude" is in distant second to "fluid reasoning and working-memory capacity" wrt explaining learning variance, which kinda seems right? Idk why this guy couldn't read that though

- Wtf is "numeracy"? Why is the source of this metric a study on gender in STEM? - How is a 45 minute python introductory thing a predictor of programming skill in general? - Most good programmers I know had more interest in physics than math when growing up. Why not ask that?
-
(not to trigger anyone) - I have no problem with studying gender in STEM, just feels unlikely to be a good source for inventing a cognitive metric. It would be a good place to use a preexisting metric.

I like articles on my phone so I can go back and read them on a bigger screen later. I know I should just use the bookmarks feature, but it’s 2 taps instead of 1 and I’m lazy :/
