US Intelligence Community 4 elements+National Intelligence Council: low confidence natural exposure (does this include infection during fieldwork?) 1 element: moderate confidence lab incident 3 elements: need more info What about the other 8 elements? https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/Unclassified-Summary-of-Assessment-on-COVID-19-Origins.pdf …

Great way to say we don't know this. "Most agencies also assess with low confidence that SARS-CoV-2 probably was not genetically engineered; however, two agencies believe there was not sufficient evidence to make an assessment" We don't know if SARS2 was genetically engineered.

I'm very strongly on the side of these IC elements collectively. It's near impossible right now to know with high confidence which origin hypothesis is more likely. Unless new information becomes declassified.

A guide to what low confidence vs moderate confidence means. Pulled from another 2021 unclassified report: Low = info credibility uncertain, info fragmented, questionable reliability Moderate = credible info, but insufficient to warrant high confidence https://www.dni.gov/files/ODNI/documents/assessments/ICA-declass-16MAR21.pdf …pic.twitter.com/j4KXVw60mZ

      Replying to @Ayjchan

Tangentially, OMG, we have too many "intelligence community member agencies"! I thought I had some idea of how the govt works, but I've literally never even heard of the "National Reconnaissance Office" or the "National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency" :/
