I guess I'm not sure what "this kind of thing" is? I'm also not sure where the "Semiconductor Heist" part comes in? ARM is only valuable for patents, AFAIK. Nobody needed to pretend to do anything if they wanted to make knock-off ARMs?

In this situation board mechanisms cannot be enforced and local judiciary system seems of no support (arbitration should favour foreign interests). Independently of the specific IP business model of ARM, this is a terrible message sent to all foreign investors.

I think this is a “heist” in that the Chinese entity already has the rights to use various ARM IP, so can operate even in places that do have IP enforcement.
