See I dunno, a Jeopardy host is only good if people tune in, so any outside factor that may or may not effect that metric ultimately is going to be a concern. Television viewers aren't purely a gauge of their explicit effectiveness at their task, and they never have been.
-
Huh what? That's such a bizarre statement. Whether people watch a game show depends entirely on how entertaining it is.

People seem to think this way because they think public figures having bad opinions on medical practice (etc) will legitimize those opinions. But that begs the question: Why are they taking medical advice from gameshow hosts to begin with? Why worry?
-
With politicians I can see the issue because there is a risk that they use their power to legally enforce their weird beliefs, but here all you gotta do is go "this person is a tv personality so i am not going to listen to them about anything important" and the problem is solved

I think a politician should be concerned with infant mortality and be vetted for it. The original tweet had some level of merit because a game show host is relatively inconsequential, you managed to completely strip that merit.
-
Isn't it just woke cancel culture to vet programmers on their views about memory management?

It’s pretty relevant whether a politician is against C-sections, though. For a game show host, less so.
-
Is it, though? Wouldn't it only be relevant if their political office dealt with maternity somehow, which is the minority of political positions?
