All of the “offensive” comments Twitter default hides from me seem like false positives.

This occurs because Twitter hides comments based on if the user has been branded "offensive", not any particular tweet. So the vast majority of tweets labeled "offensive" are actually innocuous tweets. This was apparently the best Twitter engineering could manage.

With all this talk about machine learning replacing jobs, you'd think there would be a successful AI solution by now. Or are too many machine learning folks now like web developers: just running a bunch of tools and libraries without really knowing what they're doing.

Since most information economy workers are not very good at their jobs, it is unlikely that companies would require AI to be good at their jobs before switching.
