I don't know, but I would assume this is because payment processors uniformly refuse to handle payments for a number of legitimate customers, such as sex workers. From the article it’s because they are having trouble raising another round of funding. Not because of payment processor problems

(I don't have any idea whether this is accurate or not, but at least the _current_ claim is that they were being pressured by payment processors and banking partners).

I have absolutely no idea, but if I had to guess, I would say it was "we want to be a big investory thing, and we know that we need our banking in line for that, so let's get rid of anything they want us to."
