I know that I have mild obsessive issues because it bothers me on some deep level to know that we have never found the Alkemstone, even though it's a terrible game and nobody cares. Just the fact that there _is_ an unsolved puzzle is upsetting!https://bluerenga.blog/2021/07/27/alkemstone-all-the-clues/ …

can we be certain there is actually a buried treasure?

We can't be sure. However, we can be fairly certain that we can get confirmation that we are correct, even if it isn't. Here is some background.pic.twitter.com/HgiwnZ8c2i

hm. if it was ever out there, and hadn't been found by someone who had no clue what it was, or not plowed over by industry, it would be a very valuable bauble to find. if it is a bauble, rather than say a landmark or some insight into humanity.

It's a bauble - an actual "alkemstone". Mostly worthless (the prize was the $5000 reward for finding it) but it supposedly does exist as an actual stone that is actually hidden somewhere.

hardly worthless. it has a great deal of worth, otherwise people wouldn't still be looking for it. now that i know the history behind it, i know that if i were to find the alkemstone, i would guard it like smaug guards his hoard. i guard a similar treasure i have found.
