That's exactly my point, though. Do people really want Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, etc. spending a ton of money on political lobbying? Is that really what they're asking for?

I think until "both sides" are out of lobbying, the lesser of two evils is to have your own rich democracy-circumventing team. Or, you know, just give a bunch of money to fix Flints water pipes which any of them could presumably have done.
