Delighted to see refterm allowing someone to properly benchmark their IO library, which had been held back by cmd.exe:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grWw7j54KEY …

Sorry if this is a common question but I see people asking, "when do you make a full terminal?", what more refterm needs to be a full terminal? Seems complex enough for me. Honest question, I'm a noob at this stuff.

I think it's actually very little. A terminal emulator runs a shell inside... A 'full terminal' definitely does not include a shell.

We should probably go ahead and do that, yes, but the reason I didn't is because I would rather just provide the benchmarks and show what is possible. Because the _shell itself_ may be the slow part sometimes, right.

So the important part here is to have clean benchmarks that show the problem, and a simple implementation that shows how you can be 100x faster. From there, I think it is up to people doing terminals/shells full-time to fix the problems so we can have nice things :)
