Apple computers have been the less reparable pieces of technology ever made, since maybe late 90's. Based Steve.

Apple desktops and towers had tool-less entry up until the mid-2000s, when they mostly stopped making that class. Old Apple notebooks weren't any more or less easy to repair than other notebook PCs (except IBM and Toshiba.) Things went bad in the mid-late 2000s.

Woz always championed expandability, modularity, and user serviceability as a core design concept. This is evidenced in most of apples early products culminating in Woz's magnum opus, the IIgs. The IIgs represented a fork in the road for apple however, and the rest is history.

Then stop renting other people's computers and buy your own. Attempting to regulate this is great and I agree with attempts to do so, but also the people who want you to rent your computer have good lawyers and lobbyists and we give them so much for free without a single thought.

Hey that's late stage capitalism for ya. How else would Microsoft and Apple et al be able to have such *massive* market capitalization if it wasn't for the problem Steve so eloquently described in this video.
