the amount of excuses is getting ridiculous and interestingly enough there's also an attention (laziness?) issue. All those excuses where properly addressed in your video.

I think you could literally just ship an entire complete terminal with thousand FPS rendering and perfect backwards compatibility that is better than Windows Terminal in all ways, and people would still just make something up. It doesn't matter what you do, they "just know".

What is the rationale supposed to be for why Linux terminal emulators are orders of magnitude faster than the windows one as well?
-
Are they? I don't make any claims as to the speed of Linux terminals relative to Windows Terminal. I honestly just don't use terminals much myself. A comprehensive series of benchmarks might be nice, if someone were to put it together, with a leaderboard, etc.

Casey: "conio is slow" internet: "you're crazy" Casey: "here is a program doing the exact same thing without conio which is orders of magnitude faster" internet: "this is a Ph.D project"
-
Also don't forget that I showed a 10x performance improvement _with_ conhost! You only need to get rid of conhost if you want the full 100x.

GPU acceleration is an absolute requirement from windows 8 and forward. XP and 7 had an option to go without GPU acceleration, but now windows compositing is done on the GPU.
-
What you mean by "absolute requirement"? I have a running windows 10 on a computer without GPU.
